POPCORN PARK ZOO
Popcorn Park Zoo had its humble beginnings in 1977, with the acceptance and treatment of a raccoon whose leg was crushed in a steel leghold trap, and who could never be released. Since that time the Zoo has grown into a facility serving over 200 exotic and farm animals, wildlife and birds. The uniqueness of Popcorn Park Zoo's residents lies in the fact that each one was either injured, abandoned, abused, exploited, handicapped, elderly or ill. Those injured or ill animals that can be treated and safely released enjoy the opportunity to return into their natural environment.
Residents include lions, tigers, a black bear, wallabies, deer, a camel, caimen, monkeys, bobcats, emus, equines, sheep, goats, cougars and many, many more. Improvements are constantly being made for our animals' comfort. New barns, new sheds, new compounds for the big cats - these are but a few of the ways we can give them a better life. Veterinary care is a constant - whether routine deworming, root canals or back adjustments; we want those who've come to us in need to want for nothing. Come visit -- Popcorn Park is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day with early closings on holidays. A small admission fee helps care for the animals. Please visit Popcorn Park Zoo for details about our many wonderful residents, the growth and evolution of the Zoo, and much, much more!
