From its inception in 1997 to the present, the Vested Interest Fund has provided free bullet-resistant K-9 vests to over 860 working K-9's in New Jersey, 145 in other states, and continues to vest new dogs in New Jersey as they join the workforce. Included are all working dogs who help make our lives safer - patrol K-9's, bomb and narcotics detection, or search and rescue dogs.
The Vested Interest Fund has been made possible primarily through generous private donations and the efforts of schoolchildren. The Society has also been instrumental in helping other states establish similar programs for their working K-9's.
