Name:
Gloria the Turkey Vulture
Gloria was one of two turkey vultures found injured by the side of the road in Florida quite a few years ago. Injuries threatened the lives of both and The Florida Marine Conservancy appealed to Popcorn Park Zoo to help. Both were healthy but flightless, and came to find a home together at the zoo, named Gloria and Vulton. Recently Vulton passed away of old age, leaving Gloria by herself. Turkey Vultures play an important part in the wild in cleaning the environment of animals who have died or were killed. It doesn't sound very attractive, we know, but theirs is a critical role. We find Gloria quite the lovely lady and hope you will agree, finding beauty is more than skin deep. Now without companionship for the first time in years , Gloria could certainly use a friend - won't you sponsor her? |
