Name:
Sammie of Newark
I was found as a stray, July 2009. At first it seemed that everything was fine. Then they noticed me snapping at things no one could see; and soon it was determined to be involuntary. Not a serious problem, nor really well understood; all they wanted was that I should feel really good. It was discovered that when I’m with dogs I’m quite calm; so it’s just natural I’m happy here on the Farm. But I sure would love some sponsors! Something went sadly awry in Sammie's life. He was found as a stray in late July 2009. The bright-eyed boy displayed a stereotypical behavior of "biting" at the air or snapping at imaginary flies. It occurs sporadically and is still a question mark for veterinary neurologists. There is no conclusive evidence that it is a manifestation of seizures, genetics and epilepsy but appears to be involuntary movements. He's happiest when running and playing with dogs on Animal Haven Farm at our Forked River facility if you would like to visit him. A sponsor or two would make his day! |
