"No man can be
condemmed for owning a
dog. As long as he has a
dog, he has a friend; and the
poorer he gets, the better
friend he has." -Will Rogers
Cash and Augie were adopted out together. Two days after the adoption, Society staffers went to follow up on their conditions. We found that one of them was being used as a guard dog at a used car dealership on Broad St. in Newark. We repo’d the dog! We then went and repo'd Augie, too! The resident had completely lied on their application. Although Cash and Augie – the two mixed breeds involved in our repo story - were given up by their owners in separate situations, they met at the Society’s Newark facilities where they waited for adoption. Cash, a 4 year old Rottweiler mix, had been waiting several months and had been evaluated many months ago. “He is a handsome, fun-loving guy who is easy to walk and great with other dogs. He is not interested in toys or bones … just happy to sit for a treat. He is joyful, high-spirited family dog for families with older children”. Those are his credentials, but as a repo dog, he only wants to repo some love ... and hopes for yours as a Share-A-Pet.
