Dorie needed help after the business that had been caring for her realized she and her kittens needed more than they could responsibly handle. They had been feeding the little family, but the mother became the victim of an accident. Mama cat had a portion of her tail cut off by machinery. After her accident, the employees realized the surroundings were too dangerous for the mother cat and her family. Once at our Newark shelter, Mama's kittens were old enough to be separated from her and were put up for adoption. Mama Dorie needed to have a portion of her badly cut tail surgically removed and sutured. She has since been spayed, and was tested for FIV and is negative. Dorie was sent to Kitty City and is now getting the personalized attention that most strays, eking out survival in the inner city, never experience. Dorie now lives a stress-free life on the Share-A-Pet Program in Forked River, and longs for your heart and your sponsorship.
