White Sox Finds Love after Waiting Six Years

When White Sox was surrendered to us in March of 1997, his owner, unable to keep him, praised his dog for the many tricks he could perform. His repertoire allegedly included dancing in circles, giving paw and playing dead. In the time White Sox was at our Newark shelter, we saw only one really good trick --  training his kennel worker to go through all kinds of gyrations trying to make White Sox perform!
He was such a sweetheart, we placed him on the Share-A-Pet program in mid-1998, hoping he'd have an extra chance to find love. He got along great with all his doggy pals on the Animal Haven Farm, and enjoyed his sponsors' visits. But his real red letter day came six years later, when Alexander Rossetti decided to adopt him in July 2003.
Sometimes it takes a little while to get follow-up photos, but here you can see White Sox in his very own living room, and also on his adoption day with a smile that we think says it all! Pictured is Alexander Rossetti and his daughter, Linda Robinson at our Forked River shelter. In a recent follow-up note, Mr. Rossetti said, "Thanks for all the care you gave him and for the good condition he is in for his age. You folks did a great job with him." We think Mr. Rossetti did a great job in opening his heart to this sweet older fella who truly deserved to know a home once again. And we've never heard another word about any of White Sox¹s special tricks.
Have you visited our Share-A-Pets yet? If you don't have a dog right now --- or even if you do -- why not sponsor one of our deserving dogs or cats? Each had special circumstances and would love your support. And you can make them as happy as White Sox and adopt them, too!
