Update on Bartleby

Bartleby would like to thank all of his well-wishers and let everyone know that he is doing just great! It's been about six days now since Bartleby had his surgery to amputate his leg and he is back to his old self, but the difference is he's happier and will now be able to live a pain-free life.

If you haven't heard about our boy Bartleby .... he came to us as a stray and this poor little guy had a broken front leg. Our veterinarian immediately took x rays and discovered that the leg was broken long ago, but no one had ever bothered to get Bartleby any treatment for it. The leg had healed in a terribly painful position and Bartleby would just cringe whenever he put it on the ground. He was battling an upper respiratory infection as well, so we had to wait until that was cleared up before the surgery could be performed.

Bartleby pulled through his surgery like a trooper and is well on the road to recovery. He will need another couple of weeks to heal up, then Bartleby will be ready for the wonderful home that he deserves. Bartleby is an 8 year old beagle/dachshund mix that is just as sweet as can be. He just loves everyone and would love a quiet home where he will be able to recuperate in warmth and comfort and make his fresh start in life. We are so grateful to our supporters that contribute to our Res-Q Fund, which is the fund that enabled us to help Bartleby. This fund was set up to save the sick and injured animals that come through our doors, like Bartleby. Please make a contribution to our Res-Fund and help out!

Thank you all again for your thoughts and concern for our boy Bartleby. We are thrilled to have been able to help this sweet little guy live the great life that he deserves.

Read about Bartleby when he first arrived.
