Van Gogh - Update - March 25

Our little pal Vinnie Van Gogh had a very exciting day today! We really don't know what got him so excited but he seemed full of fun, Vinnie-howls, snorts and butt-wiggling!

Vinnie out touring in his stroller.

This can only mean one thing Vinnie is healing and feeling good. We know that he is not enjoying wearing his orthopedic socks, (a.k.a.- his Scuba Steve suit), because he has figured out how to take them off when no one is looking, but we've explained to him that he must wear them during the day, and we'll let him take them off at night. They really are helping those stubborn wounds on his front legs heal. So he agreed that he would wear his socks, as long as he could hang out with his buddy John, our Popcorn Park director, for a while in his office. John was only too happy to have the company so Vinnie bopped around in his socks, greeting everyone that came in to say hello.

Vinnie was in such a great mood today that he was even skipping when he went for his short walks! Skipping is much better than not putting weight on that back leg at all, so we are happy to see him skip occasionally. When Vinnie is not skipping, he is putting his hind leg down more frequently, and we are very proud of him for working so hard to get better.

Vinnie also took a well-deserved trip in his stroller today and spotted some new friends along the way. He will be going for a re-check soon with his orthopedic surgeon and if his hip is healing well, then his next surgery will be scheduled. While we hate to put Vinnie through any further discomfort, these surgeries are absolutely necessary in order for him to live a healthy, full life.

We are so grateful to all who contribute to our Res-Q Fund. All of you have made it possible for us to get Vinnie all of the help that he needs, and we appreciate your generosity so much. To keep Vinnie, (and all our other pets in need), keep on keepin' on, please make a donation to our Res-Q Fund.

Vinnie, too, would like to send his heartfelt thanks to all of you for following him along on his journey. Your thoughts and well wishes for our little guy mean more to him than you know. Please stay tuned for more from the Invincible Vinnie.
