What a difference lots of love and good care can make! Remember this little guy? It's Rusty, the tiny, delicate puppy that came to our Newark facility just a couple of short weeks ago near death. He was abandoned on a front porch in Newark and was so emaciated, we really wondered if he would even survive. Well, not only did he survive, but he is thriving! Rusty has been under the good care of AHS veterinarian Dr. Adriana Hordynsy, and has been with her and her canine companion, Wilma, round the clock. Rusty is putting on weight and getting stronger and stronger every day, and he is loving life with Dr. Adriana and mom Wilma. This update just in from our Newark facility:
"Rusty and his Pal (Wilma) came to the Newark offices on Thursday as Dr. Hordynsky performed medical duties at the shelter and on the mobile spay/neuter van. Most times, Dr. Hordynsky is at her own practice in Linden so we haven't seen much of him.
"Rusty and Wilma spent the whole day in the Administrative Offices running the hallways, looking at the birds, iguanas, chinchillas and strange sights he has never seen before. He doesn't leave Wilma's side …. unless there is a little tidbit that one of the office staff will feed him. Rusty is very smart and is almost housebroken.
"Don't pet Wilma or give her hugs unless you include Rusty in the love fest …. or he gets very vocal!"

The best update of all!
Our vet, Dr. Hordynsky, is going to adopt Rusty! Her family has fallen in love. She says, " He just fits this family and Wilma just loves him :)." What a wonderful, happy ending!
