Van Gogh - April 26 - Meet the Moms

Sooo everyone wanted to see the two ladies behind the laughter, here we are! Unfortunately they are not the greatest pictures but really, have you ever tried to have a photo shoot with Mr. Vinnie Van Gogh? When he is in full puppy mode, it's a little difficult, to say the least!

Vinnie has seriously been "puppy-ing" it up all week, and today, he got into a full-snorting-frenzy with us and just wanted to play when we needed him to be serious for a couple of pictures. If you want to know why we laugh so much, this is why. Vinnie was a comedian in his former life. He will look at you with his head on the ground, with such serious eyes, then he'll let loose and start slapping at you, snorting, and doing the dog version of laughing! He is truly happy 24 hours a day.

When we greet him in the morning, he is on his back with his legs kicking in the air like a baby, and when we take him for his many walks throughout the day, he does a full body-wiggle so it makes it nearly impossible to get his collar and leash on. Vinnie is the kind of guy that can put a smile on your face instantly, and put you in a great mood no matter what kind of day you're having.

Sometimes we talk about those first few weeks with Vinnie, when he wasn't laughing so much, and wasn't biting our hair and slapping us. Those days when we didn't know from hour to hour whether or not Vinnie was going to make it. When we had to clean his wounds, hold a nebulizer over his mouth to get him his antibiotics, and cradle him through his many injections of medicines. When we had to hold him up in a sling just so he could go to the bathroom and lift his head for him when he was coughing, so he wouldn't choke. The days when we had to lift his swollen, dead legs so that we could spray the open wounds underneath, and hug him because we knew it hurt so bad. And those days when we gave him tiny pieces of liverwurst and hamburger and hope that he would eat a little, even though it pained him so much just to chew.

We talk about those days and cannot believe that he is the same dog that he was three months ago. We are so grateful for Vinnie just being alive today, and want to thank all of you for saying those prayers for him. Thank you also for donating to our Res-Q Fund for Vinnie. This is what enabled us to do all that we have done for him, and we're so grateful to all of you. Vinnie still has a long way to go and we still need your help, so we certainly appreciate continued donations to our fund. You can donate right here

Thank you all for following our little guy on his journey for all this time and for helping us so much along the way.
