Van Gogh - Update - April 29

Thank you all for all of your well wishes to Vinnie for his follow up visit to his surgeon today ... it definitely helped! The Vin Min had his sutures removed, and was given the ALL CLEAR to go run, play and have fun in our exercise yard!! We could hardly wait to get him back and let him loose! Vinnie had lots of fun but he took it a little easy his first time out, and that's perfectly fine. Having the freedom to run, play and let his hair down is still a little new to Vinnie, so, all in good time.

Dr. Weinstein at North Star Vets who performed both of Vinnie's hip surgeries was very impressed with the progress he is making. She was very happy to see that Vinnie is extending his hind legs far out behind him as if he never had a thing wrong! He is building up lots of muscle and is right on track in his recovery. Now that his sutures are out, Vinnie will be starting physical therapy shortly. He will be on a very aggressive therapy treatment plan for the next couple of months build strength and cartilage where his hip joints were removed. We know, it seems like it never ends for Vinnie, but he sure is heading in the right direction.

As always, we would like to thank all of you for supporting Vinnie along the way and for your continued support. We've been questioned recently as to why we continue to ask for donations toward Vinnie's care by some people that feel that we should "stop it already". The truth is, Vinnie's medical expenses are ongoing and since we are a non-profit, we rely heavily on donations from people such as yourselves, who care enough to want to help animals in need like Vinnie. Vinnie's medical expenses are up to about $15,000, but he is just one of so many that we have helped in the past, are presently helping, and that we will need to help in the future. The need for our Res-Q Fund never, ever ends. If you are able to do so, please make a contribution to our Fund.

Thank you all, and enjoy watching Vinnie in action!
