Van Gogh - Update - May 13

What a big day for three of our special needs pups! Vinnie, Nina and Blossom all hopped into the Popcorn Park van and took a ride to see Dr. Russell Howe-Smith at Pet PT in Cherry Hill, NJ.

Vinnie went for his consultation with Dr. Howe-Smith, who was extremely impressed with the progress that Vinnie has already made. He was amazed at how well Vinnie is doing after his two hip surgeries, and was happy to see how strong Vinnie is and how much he is using his hips. The muscle mass in Vinnie's right hind leg is much better than that in his left leg, so he will be on a very aggressive exercise schedule to get those muscles built up and those hips working to full potential. After his examination, Vinnie had lots of fun making friends, and watching his pals Nina and Blossom do their water therapy.

Nina is also doing amazingly well after her major surgeries. Nina came to us several months ago when her owners turned her in because they were moving. They neglected to let us know that Nina suffered two ruptured cruciate ligaments and a torn meniscus. After a major surgery performed by orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Coodia, Nina was finally able to start her therapy to get her legs back in shape. Nina did great in the water today on the treadmill and will only need about three weeks of therapy before she's back to running and playing with the best of them. Nina will be looking for a wonderful home of her own real soon, so please keep her in mind!

Blossom also did fantastic today at therapy. She went for her first walk on the underwater treadmill and was showing off in front of Vinnie as if she was an old pro! Blossom suffered some serious injuries to her hind leg after being thrown out the window of a moving car by her former owner when she was only 4 months old. She is doing great on her road to recovery and will also be ready for a great home of her own in just a couple of weeks.

We would like to thank Dr. Russell Howe-Smith and his wonderful staff for taking such good care of Vinnie, Nina and Blossom, and for helping so many of our Popcorn Pets in the past. We've brought so many of our animals in need to Pet PT over the years and they have always been happy to help. We would also like to thank our generous supporters for enabling us to get the necessary help for so many wonderful animals like Vinnie, Blossom and Nina. Our Res-Q Fund is the fund that enables us to help those in need, so please help us help more animals in need and contribute to our Res-Q Fund.
