Hong Kong Marine Park to Include Endangered Species
|
A Hong Kong marine park will be adding 33 new animal species to its current collection. Ocean Park plans on adding threatened and endangered animals such as the Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin which would violate international trade rules. They would also like to feature orcas, belugas, polar bears, and walruses - wild captures that are notoriously violent, and often lead to the death and/or injury of the animals. Ocean Park already has a dismal record of keeping marine mammals, but is trying to compete with Disneyland Hong Kong which is animal free, and which will open this September, 2005. |
