Alijah - Kept in Barren Crate in Boiling Sun

The AHS Tinton Falls facility was contacted by a concerned neighbor who saw this young dog left in a cage in direct hot sun without any shade, shelter or any water. The AHS dispatched an Animal Control Officer to the scene, along with the local Police Dept. were on the scene to validate the manner in which she was kept.

An Incident Report was made up by Officer K. Davis of the Police Dept. to indicate that the dog was in the cage for an extended time without food and water. The Incident Report went on to note that the dog was visibly malnourished and he viewed the dog's ribs and other skeletal features. Police Officer Davis attempted to locate an owner through the township dog licensing records, as well as a phone number for the numerous people on the mailbox. Both met with negative results.

The AHS Animal Control Officer left a note at the door to advise the dog owner where the dog would be brought. That was over a week ago and they have never contacted the Society. The AHS notified the county animal enforcement of the matter.

The sweet young pup we call Alijah is estimated to be about 8 months old and is looking for a responsible caring family to give her the love and respect she deserves. If you would like to help with our never-ending assistance for animals in need, please donate to help us to others who are in need of help. File 78998. For more information, call the AHS at 732-922-0100 or e-mail us.
