Van Gogh - Update - June 24

Vinnie has had a very eventful few days! We hosted the music festival, Rock 2 Adopt, this past weekend, and Vinnie had a front row seat to listen to all the bands and greet guests. Once things settled down, it was back in training mode for Vinnie but of course, he always gets plenty of fun time too.

Vinnie had lots of fun in our exercise yard, blowing off some steam with his "friends and family". He is doing well with his training classes but still has some work to do with socializing well with other dogs. Vinnie took a road trip last night with his two "moms" (also known as Breakfast and Dinner), and ventured out to mingle with some other dogs that are in training as well.

Paul Pagano from Bark Busters arranged for all of us to meet at a central location where we could work on some of the issues that the dogs in the group are having. The dogs ranged from a little schnauzer to a extra-large mastiff, and even included a Popcorn Park adoptee! Doug, formerly known as Jacko, is also in training with Bark Busters and is making lots of progress. Vinnie encountered several dogs during the session and all kept a safe distance from each other. He felt a little overwhelmed at times, which is to be expected given all he has been through, but he is learning that there are plenty of good dogs out there that will not hurt him, and that he can become friends with. He actually met some more dogs after training during a quick stop at "Dinner's" house. After safe introductions, Vinnie decided that the three dogs that he met suited him just fine and they were all "good dogs" in his book!

Vinnie continues to work on the strength in his hips and as you can see, is doing great! He takes a tumble every once in a while, but he is definitely making huge progress. Thank you for following Vinnie along on his journey . he appreciates your support more than you know. Please stay tuned for more from the Invincible Vinnie!
