August 2 and 3 is the Grand Opening of The Salvage Store located at 1594 Rt. 9 in Toms River. Lois and Sandy, animal loving co-owners, have opened this store with lovely like-new home furnishings, housewares, artwork, jewelry, etc. and their main effort and concern is the adoption of animals from our shelter as well as the importance of spay/neuter. To this end, Popcorn Park's mobile spay/neuter van will be there for a microchip clinic on both days between 10 am and 5 pm for a $20 donation. Popcorn Park vet, Dr. Nalven, will be there on Aug. 3rd between 10 and 3 for a wellness clinic. No spay/neuters will be done during that weekend. The Salvage Store will have lots of animal-related items as well as literature, zoo passes, pictures and a digital photo frame that the public can view animals at the shelter. The frame will be updated weekly.
If you are emptying an apartment and would like to donate furniture, housewares, etc, The Salvage Store will be happy to accept it. If you live in Monmouth/Ocean County and cannot bring it to us, please call Lois at 732-341-2320 or e-mail pictures of the furniture to her.
The store is open 7 days a week from 10 – 5. A portion of all profits will go to AHS/Popcorn through the partnering arrangement with The Salvage Store.
