Van Gogh - Update - July29

Since Vinnie is doing so wonderfully these days, he figured he would use his fame to help out another dog in need .. little Miss Riddle! Vinnie also brought along his new friend B.G. to show that all three "special needs" dogs can get around just fine, and that people should not be afraid to adopt a pet with special needs.

B.G. has been socializing with Vinnie lately so we can get our boy used to dogs of all shapes and sizes. Vinnie and B.G. are great friends now and he has learned to be very polite around the little ladies. B.G. is a Popcorn Park alumni that got adopted by our kennel supervisor about 5 years ago. She came to us as a little puppy that suffered a severe trauma to her spine. Whether it was accidental or intentional, we'll never know, but little B.G. was injured and needed special care. B.G. now has three fused vertebrae in her spine and her tail is crooked, but she gets around perfectly fine and lives a normal, happy life.

Riddle came to our Tinton Falls facility several months ago as a stray with several medical issues. Our veterinary team got right to work on helping little Riddle, and figuring out what was going on with her. After extensive testing and many trips to specialists, we discovered that Riddle's two major issues are elbow dysplasia in her front leg, and a heart defect. She also has some minor congenital deformities but none of them effect her quality of life. Riddle's condition is good and stable right now, and she is doing just great. She gets around very well and just loves life. She was transferred to us at Popcorn Park not long ago, and we are just thrilled to have her with us. She is such a happy and sweet little girl and at only about a year old, she has a long, full life ahead of her. We would love it if she could experience what a real home and family is like!

All of these special needs pups were able to get the help that they needed thanks to the generosity of our donors who support our Res-Q Fund. This fund is what enables us to treat the special cases that come through our doors every day, and unfortunately, there is never a time when this fund is not needed. Please help out and make a contribution to our Res-Q Fund.

Vinnie, Riddle and B.G. all enjoyed a nice long walk together after their meet-and-greet, and we're hoping to get them all together again soon for a play date. Thank you all again for following Vinnie, and all of our special pets along on their journeys. Please stay tuned for more from the Invincible Vinnie and friends!
