Max Gets Surgery and Is Ready to Go!

Max had quite a few scares prior to his arrival at the Society - adopted from an out-of-state animal league to an inner city family who allowed the children to walk him in the park alone, Max was soon stolen. Three weeks later he arrived through the city's animal control on a stretcher in shock and with two injured legs. Once stabilized, he was evaluated at a vet specialist to determine the extent of his injuries. One leg was fractured and just needed cage rest; the other needed to be amputated.

Max is now just a little bit older ... estimatd at 7-8 months ... and one leg short. But his wonderful temperament and enthusiasm make it clear that he's happy to go with his three good legs!  Thanks to prompt medical attention, a professional evaluation and resultant surgery, this sweet pup now wants for nothing more than loving home.

Success stories like Max's are what make our job worth doing. If you believe that extending the extra help to pups like Max and giving them a new leash on life is worth it, please support our efforts!

Read more on Max when he first came to the Society.
