There is no end to the stories one hears in an inner city shelter. And there is sadly, no end to the stream of innocent, injured animals that come to our door needing help. This sweet little Beage mix, just a puppy, with huge pleading eyes, was found on the streets of Newark with a broken leg. A good samaritan brought her in.

It was quickly determined that she had a broken foreleg and required specialized surgery. Several days, pins, screws and $2,000 later, little Lily was brought back to our Medical Department to convalesce. She rolls over for tummy rubs and is everyone's darling - a pup that got a much needed chance at a future filled with love. Lily currently is waiting for her very own home. (File 39361-Med).
