Legislation to Support Animal Evacuation
|
| H. R. 3858 is known as the Pet Evacuation & Transportation Standards Act. This pending legislation would provide funding/grants for states and local authorities that meet minimal compliance with documented evacuation plans for animals in emergent situations. The high cost financially to taxpayers and emotionally to human victims to address animal rescue/controls occurring from a natural and/or man-made disaster must be planned for BEFORE not AFTER the fact.
