Meet Allie. She was once a Society orphan in our Newark shelter, one among hundreds of deserving dogs hoping a forever home would soon be hers. She caught the eye of Fritz Pastuck of Clinton, NJ who adopted her, and devoted the time and effort necessary to train Allie in obedience and as a therapy dog.
And Allie has certainly made Fritz proud as she now puts smiles on the faces of people who need a lift in life; As a result of her therapy dog work, Allie has been installed in the N. J. Veterinary Foundationís Animal Hall of Fame for therapy efforts given in relation to September 11, 2001 and a Certificate of Appreciation from Therapy Dogs International for her efforts during the same period of time. Allie and her best friend, Fritz Pastuck, were also presented with a Certificate of Achievement for accumulating 50 or more Therapy Dog Visits!
These honors are truly triumphant accomplishments for a dog whose humble beginnings began as an unknown stray in a city shelter, but who had nothing less than a heart of gold!
Dogs like Allie wait for loving homes every day at the Society's four shelters ... wait to show you their hearts of gold that just might shine joy into the lives of others. We're proud to help dogs like Allie find such wonderful homes. Support the Society's efforts today.
