Curly and Victor are two llamas who grew up together on an estate in Middletown, NJ. Although the pair was very much loved, their lives were thrown into the lurch when their elderly owners prepared to sell the estate and move to Florida, and they were in need of an animal rescue!
As it happened, back at the Zoo, we had a lonely Princess ... a sweet camel who loved her human caretakers, and enjoyed her duck and geese friends ... but longed for friends more like her. Luckily, we were able to accept Curly and Victor, and they now share the spacious compound with our Princess.
Curly is four years old, and a bit more reserved than five year old Victor, and she warms up a bit more slowly than he. Victor is more outgoing, curious and trusting - a kind of `in-your-face' llama. He comes right up to staff at all times, and also went right up to Princess, from the very beginning! He wanted to smell her and get to know her immediately, while Curly stood back and watched in quiet consternation.
But it didn't take long for the three animals, who all belong to the same family, to become friends. One day staff observed Princess ... a fairly slow mover ... run at full speed into the big barn, and Curly and Victor were nowhere in sight. Was trouble brewing? It wasn't but a few moments when Princess ran right back out at a gallop, with Curly and Victor chasing her! And so it became apparent that the three had become playmates and now had games to play!
So this animal rescue story really has a fairytale ending ... Curly and Victor have a new, happy home for life, and our Princess is never lonely. Won't you please take a moment and become a sponsor for one of these three newfound friends? Curly, Victor and Princess are all available for sponsorship on the Wildlife Club, and your sponsoring them will make this animal rescue story complete.
