Cletus is Quarantined for Six Months
Cletus is our poster boy for the holidays. He was abandoned along a heavily wooded roadside - a shivering, frightened pup. He was only 4-5 weeks old, far too young to have gotten there on his own. His emaciated body showed how poorly he had been cared for during his short time on earth. Staff named the tiny pup Cletus.
Because he had numerous bites and wounds of unknown origin on his body, the State Department of Health required that he be quarantined for six months. There are some animal organizations that would have euthanized Cletus rather than pay the costs involved to heal him and care for him over this period of time. This is not what we decided to do. Our veterinary staff is healing his little body, and shelter staff is healing his heart. Cletus has aways to go, but is making wonderful progress.
Animals in need, like Cletus, come ... and continue to come ... thousands of unwanted, gentle creatures, hoping that our doors will be open and that they will find a kind voice, a gentle hand and a skilled professional who will make a difference in their lives. They look to us to be there ... and in turn, we look to you to be there ... to make our rescue work possible.
We wish to thank you, our caring and generous donors, for your continued support throughout the year, and to reach out to you who have come to our web site and are meeting us for the first time. It is only because of you that our doors are never closed to the sick, the suffering, the abused and unwanted.
Won't you please help the many animals who come to us and make a donation this holiday season?
