Pepper was found as a badly injured stray. Helpless and in pain, Pepper most likely received his injuries hit by a car, but apparently no one cared enough about the Cairn/Scottie mix to assure he got immediate treatment. Once he was with us, our veterinarians X-rayed Pepper and found a fractured hip which would require orthopedic surgery. It was also necessary to amputate his tail, which was broken in several places. The orthopedic surgery Pepper needed cannot be performed in our hospital, so we called upon the ResQ Fund to send Pepper to a specialist.
Thanks to this fund, Pepper is now all healed -- except for a broken heart. He is convalescing at our Forked River Shelter where he is awaiting adoption. As you can see in his photo, he is all smiles for staff and will make a wonderful pet for the person who will keep him safe from harm.
With the ResQ Fund, Pepper and other animals in need of emergency, specialized or long-term care can be assured of getting the quality treatment they need. Please read more about our ResQ Fund and make a donation today ... be assured you'll be saving lives!
