Someone in Irvington was extremely heartless and cruel when they moved out of their apartment. They left their pit bull and their teen-age kitten in a cage behind a garage -- to die. The Humane Society has taken them in and call them Josie and the Pussy Cat. We are keeping them together -- they like it that way...and so do we. They come as a pair for adoption into a loving home. Some people believe that an animal may have a better chance at finding a home if they are abandoned. Sadly, nothing is further from the truth. Many animals left on their own to find food, water and shelter die a slow, lingering death. Others are used as bait for pit bulls; many, many are tortured by youths, hit by cars & left injured. The very worst that could happen is that your pet could be euthanized. When you see the animals that are stoned, slashed, set on fire, death is not the worst thing that could happen to them. You owe your beloved a pet the opportunity to be placed somewhere until a lifetime home can be found. Josie and the Pussycat were placed in a cage that could not be seen by the public so we do not know the intent of the perpetrator of this abandonment.
