WAITING FOR AN OWNER WHO NEVER RETURNED
The Police contacted the Society late at night on April 27th to rescue a needy dog that had been abandoned to die in an apartment on Martin Luther King Blvd in Newark. He had patiently waited by the door for an owner who never returned. He had given up on hope .... and was betrayed by the people he loved the most.
The landlord had discovered the little fella who’d been left behind in the apartment and called the police, and let our driver into the apartment when he arrived about 9 pm. Though thin and tired, the little Pug/terrier mix was very grateful to see a smiling face. In a short time he was back at the Society with plenty of food and water and a warm place to stay.
We call him Chauncey and he has put on weight and regained the shine in his coat. What we cannot fix is a broken heart and the loss of trust this little guy has experienced. We want to make a difference in his life. To find a "forever home" where he never has to wait, alone and hungry, and will never be betrayed again.
Chauncey will be neutered prior to adoption and is available immediately to that special loving home. File 47510-M.
