Twenty-four more dogs that faced a cruel death in the gas chambers of Georgia were in need of help. These would be the last dogs that their heroes would be able to assist.
Unfortunately, Death Row Dogs, a non-porift organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from the gas chambers in pounds and shelters in Georgia went bankrupt, and are no longer able to do rescue. As we have worked with this group in the past, they contacted the Society advising that they had the last twenty-four dogs that they were able to rescue from this horrible death.
We offered to take all twenty-four dogs; however, in the meantime, several other agencies offered and had taken some also.
The Society took the remaining ten dogs which are now at our Forked River Animal Care Center and available to lifetime homes. Pictured here are five of the lucky ones that escaped with their lives.
