The number of reports concerning animals that have been injured or died as a result of house fires is especially noteworthy from October and throughout the winter months. We urge pet owners to keep leashes and pet carriers in a handy place.

When leaving the home, be sure all electrical plugs are pulled out; install smoke detector alarms on the ceilings of your rooms, keep matches or lighters away from children, do not overload electric circuit capacity. There are many excellent tips available on various websites with regard to preventing house fires. Most importantly – if a fire starts, do not try to handle it yourself. Do not take any risks – call the fire department and get your children and pets out of the house. Once out, do not go back in!
