When we first wrote about Murdock, we reported how he had been found wandering as a stray in Beachwood, N J. He had some obvious eye problems and was immediately brought to Dr. Laney Baris who is in charge of the Popcorn Park Animal Hospital. The very affectionate cat has entropion eyelids which roll inward and cause irritation and distress. A delicate operation is needed by an opthalmic veterinary surgeon. Arrangements will be made to have Murdock brought to the Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Tinton Falls where the procedure can be done for $1,200.
The Society has established a Res-Q Fund for the sole purpose of giving emergency, surgical or other intensive veterinary care to sick, injured and abused animals that come through our doors. Any funds donated that exceed the cost of Murdock's operation will be applied to others in need of surgical or intensive veterinary care.
UPDATE: Feb. 2, 2007 - Murdock has had his surgery (see photo at left) and will soon be available for adoption; if interested, please inquire at our Forked River Shelter. File #13980-M.
If you would like to contribute towards the restoration of comfortable vision for Murdock, please consider a gift to out ResQ Fund.
