It came across the internet – like so many of the helpless animals in need of comfort and relief. But this elderly Chihuahua was in a South Carolina shelter. According to the rescue group, she was sitting in a shelter with a lump on her leg (possibly shot), hair loss …. and what some believed were cigarette burns around the face.

The group said they would arrange transport if anyone could help; this little dog certainly needed an angel to save her. When no one offered to open their hearts, the Society opted to take her in.

All veterinary concerns have been addressed and Chica now lives on the Animal Haven Farm with an elderly poodle named Danny who has been with us for several years. Life has become much brighter for the once beleaguered Chihuahua, and a real home would bring boundless joy.

UPDATE: This lucky little girl has just had her dream come true - she was adopted into a loving home over the weekend, Jan 13/14, and can now look forward to nothing but love and affection.
