Latest update on Scoop below!
Please take a look at Scoop -- he is a 5 year old, neutered male, rust and white Cocker Spaniel who was stolen at gunpoint while on an evening walk in Clifton, NJ on Fairmount Avenue Saturday evening around 9:00 pm. The owner was accosted by two men, one with a handgun, who demanded the dog. The owner pled for the animal"s safety but to no avail. The dog was taken from the owner and given to another individual. They both sped away in a car. It was much too dark to get the license plate number.
Police were called and the owners are offering a $500.00 reward for return of their beloved pet.
Scoop is wearing a Red/Green Collar that says "Spoiled Rotten". Anyone with information can call the Clifton PD at 973-470-5908 or 973-476-6971.
Update 2/14/07: Scoop was brought into the police station by someone who received him most recently. Apparently, the dog had been transferred to a number of people after he was stolen, and one thought to return him. Scoop was the second dog to have been the victim of robbers in the area at gunpoint. In the other instance, the child who was accosted negotiated a trade with his iPod, pleading for the life of his grandmother's dog.
