Pebbles was rescued and brought to our Newark shelter by an individual who went that extra mile to help Pebbles out of an abusive home. According to the person who rescued this dog, besides the place being filthy, there was no water available for the dog; they had a small bowl of rice (that was dried up). Pebbles was emaciated - skin and bones.
She had never been to a vet and so her rescuer took her for a complete check-up and shots. Upon examination, the vet determined that Pebbles is more than likely spayed. It was not enough that Pebbles was treated poorly, as an extra bonus, Pebbles endured abuse from the husband in the family who did not like the dog and if she went near him, he would kick Pebbles across the floor.
So we are very, very happy to have Pebbles with us. She is spending some time in Administrative Offices getting used to people and other animals. Pebbles walks well on a leash, is housebroken and crate trained. She loves other dogs, big or small. All she wants to do is play, play and play. Pebbles could use some help with her manners, as in jumping and barking, but other than that she is extremely sweet and loveable. She loves to cuddle and watch TV ... she'll lay in your lap for hours.
Pebbles is now awaiting her forever home. She needs a calm environment and lots and lots of TLC. Please contact us or call the shelter at (973) 824-7080 and ask for Debbie Beyfuss or Karen Powell if interested in adopting this sweet girl.. File # 57910.
