MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIFE OF AN ANIMAL THIS EASTER:
ASSOCIATED HUMANE SOCIETIES SAYS “ADOPT” A PET
(Forked River, NJ) – It is the time of year when many parents purchase baby bunnies, ducklings and baby chicks and give the animals to their children on Easter morning. Then, a month later, if the animal survives, it is brought to the shelter as the responsibility becomes too much to handle. Many of these infant animals die from neglect, starvation and mishandling.
These little ducklings are now growing up
and will soon be available for sponsorship
in the Wildlife Club
Rather than suffer the heartache, the Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park Zoo is urging parents to join its Wildlife Club this year where an animal in need can be sponsored as an Easter gift for their child and have its life changed forever.
Roseann Trezza, Executive Director of the Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park Zoo says, “By sponsoring rather than adopting, children can change the life of an animal that once only knew suffering and pain or faced an uncertain future. We have rabbits, chicks, ducks and all kinds of animals who need care that is provided by experienced zoo staff. It allows a child to truly understand how a little bit of love can go a long way.”
Parents can “sponsor” an animal for $3 a month or they can buy a $36 year-long gift for their child. Three times a year, the child will receive a color photo, report about the animal and a holiday card. The sponsorship also includes a membership card to the Popcorn Park Zoo which allows for free admission.
