The September/October 2007 issue of the Humane News (click here) Vol. 38, No.4 is now available for you to read!
Although it is always everyone's wish that cruelty would be slowing down, the cases seen by the Associated Humane Societies have been on the rise. This issue of the Humane News brings to light several instances of starvation, neglect and cruelty - victims who may not have survived without rescue. Each has survived and is waiting for a loving home.
With football player Michael Vick's dogfighting operation at his home in Virginia taking national headlines, the horribly cruel business of fighting pit bulls has come to light. The victims of dogfighting have been coming ito Society shelters for years as an everyday occurrence, but now the public can see and read more of what these dogs really suffer. New Jersey's wildlife is also in need of your help with letters to help keep rehabilitators helping animals in need. We have some great news with longtime Share-A-Pet Thelma finally finding a home, and another Society orphan - an English Bulldog - making his way to Broadway. The Society also continues providing vests for dogs serving the public through the Vested Interest program. Check out the details on our Chinese Auction and Sweepstakes, and all the news about animals that's fit to print!
