This sweet young pit bull pup did nothing to deserve the cruel, abusive treatment that we believe she endured. She was found by the Essex County Police in Newark’s Branch Brook Park hogtied with all four legs and paws tied up with duct tape. The police officers cut the tape and delivered her directly to us.
The extremely emaciated dog was brought directly into the Medical Department. Dr. Lisa Bongiovanni took off the duct tape and found all four paws were bloody and had been scraped raw – as if the dog had been dragged by a vehicle or put into acid. After the duct tape had been removed, the injuries were so painful, she was unable to stand.
Dr.Bongiovanni administered pain medication, antibiotics and each day the pup is put into a warm soothing bath or given warm compresses. The healing is slow …. but the heartbreak will heal when she finds a lifetime of love. We call her Anticipation …. and hope that you will find a spot in your heart for this lovable pup. File N-72081-F (Newark).
Anticipation's intensive care is available to her through our ResQ Fund a unique fund established for the sole purpose of providing emergency, surgical or other intensive medical care to animals that have suffered excessively cruel or neglectful treatment. Certainly this young lady fits the bill. Your donation to the ResQ Fund helps us help Anticipation and many more animals that come to us in need.
According to Barbara Dyer, N J State Director of the Humane Society of the U.S., Mid-Atlantic Regional Office, they are offering a $2,500.00 reward for any information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s).
