Tasha the Cougar was once kept as an illegal "pet". Once she came to Popcorn Park, she made new friends with Cindy Lou, (now no longer with us), and Sheba, and had lots of room to roam and areas to climb. As Tasha's gotten older, she no longer loses her winter coat each spring.
So while she was down for a vet check-up and bloodwork, Larry and Karen from PetPals Mobile Pet Grooming of Bayville, NJ volunteered to shave her down. When our General Manager mentioned the idea to Larry, he jumped at the chance to do one of the Popcorn Park animals.
Karen and Larry get to work. Tasha has a towel on her to keep hair from getting in her eyes and ears. She is shaved inside her own den.

The last step before Tasha wakes up - she receives some IV fluids.
A big thank you to Larry and Karen for helping Tasha feel more comfortable in the warmer weather. They are here once a week, every week, with their state-of-the-art mobile grooming van, volunteering to shave, groom, and give a whole new look to whatever dogs or cats may need it. Their contribution has made a big difference in helping many animals get adopted that had been passed over prior to their grooming. But for Larry and Karen, Tasha was their most exciting job yet!
And don't forget Tasha! You can help support her on the Wildlife Club and she's always happy to have new friends. Sponsor Tasha today! And be sure to visit, too!
