The Society is called upon to rescue animals from every imaginable situation, many that never cross the mind of the average pet owner. We are contacted to rescue cats and dogs from locations where there has been violence, murder and suicide, leaving in their wake beleaguered animals who are overwhelmed with what they have seen or experienced.

Most recently, authorities went to a burning building in Irvington, NJ and discovered 3 people who had been shot to death and a fourth who was fatally wounded. The Society was called to rescue a rotund, soot-covered cat estimated to be about 10 years old and who was owned by one of those murdered. She will be sent to Kitty City so that the loving care she had with her owners will continue uninterrupted.
We've named her Phoenix and added her to the Share-A-Pet program. Will you share a part of your heart and sponsor this lovely girl who barely escaped death in the fire?
If interested in adopting Phoenix and helping her forget this terrible experience, please contact us. File N-74904-F.
