Volunteers, Donations Needed for AHS/Popcorn Park
Annual Chinese AuctionOctober 18
TOMS RIVER – With Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park Zoo’s Chinese Auction just a little over a month away, event planners are still hoping for some more headliner gift donations and volunteers to help make the annual event the biggest and best ever.
The fundraiser held each year by Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park Zoo will be at the BPO Elks Lodge, Clifton Avenue and Washington Street, Toms River, Saturday, October 18. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the auction begins at 7 p.m. Entrance fee is $10 at the door and food will be sold by the Elks.
“Like all nonprofit organizations that depend on donations from generous supporters, we’ve seen a decline in monetary contributions, while at the same time an increase in the number of animals being surrendered to our three Animal Care Centers,” said Roseann Trezza, Executive Director, Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park. “We’re hoping that our Chinese Auction and other fundraisers are so well-attended and supported that they will help supplement that loss.”
Most needed for the event are donations of auction items or services. These items can be any new, unused merchandise, gift cards or donations of professional services. Among the items currently up for grabs are a beautiful, handmade cabinet, garden angel wind chimes and a pet stroller. Also needed are volunteers to help with the event
