Vespa - Kitten Hit By Car, Severely Injured

In mid-September, AHS/Popcorn Park received a call from Barnegat Police Dept. about a kitten that had been hit by a car. The kitten was struck and left in the road for dead. The police found that she was alive, and our Animal Control Officer raced to the scene to get this poor little thing. This little girl was in terrible condition, and was no more than about 5 weeks old. She was brought straight to the Popcorn Park Medical Dept. for immediate treatment. It was discovered that amongst other injuries, she had a large hole in her head, right down to the bone. Our veterinarian operated immediately to repair the hole and afterwards, everyone just hoped that this little thing would be strong enough to make it.

Sure enough, this tiny little kitten not only survived the surgery, but got better and stronger with each passing day. Our medical department of course fell in love with the little kitty, and named her Vespa. Vespa has been in recovery for over a month now and you wouldn't believe how strong this little girl is! She is all healed up and while she has some scarring, she has no emotional scarring whatsoever. Vespa is the most outgoing little kitty, and absolutely loves life! She enjoys playing all day with her good friends in our medical department and she is happy to keep them entertained with her antics. While everyone just adores her, now that she is all healed up, it's time to find her a good home to call her own.

Vespa is looking for a wonderful, safe home where she will be loved and cared for the way she should be. She would love to be a spoiled little kitty, have lots of toys, and a warm lap to curl up in when she's ready for a nap. She would also like a family that will take very good care of her and never let her stray again. Please spread the word for our little miracle Vespa! It's only through people like yourself who contribute to our Res-Q Fund that animals in need like Vespa are saved and cared for. Please donate to our Res-Q Fund today!

For more information on Vespa, call the AHS/Popcorn Park at 609-693-1900 or e-mail us. Popcorn Park is located at Humane Way and Lacey Road in Forked River. AHS/Popcorn Park is just off of Exit 74 (So./No.) of the Garden State Parkway.
