It was one of the coldest days of the year when the Associated Humane Societies' Tinton Falls facility was contacted regarding an injured dog in Neptune. The caller advised that the dog was by a sofa that had been put out for the garbage.
Animal Control Officer Kevin Rooney was dispatched to the scene -- but could not find the dog. Within a few minutes, the head of a pup popped through the sofa cushion! He had obviously tunneled into the sofa to find warmth in the bitter cold and windy day. Our ACO bundled up the young boy who is now at the Society's Tinton Falls shelter where he has warmth, food, clean water and shelter. No one has called to claim this boy and he is now waiting for a lifetime of love.
A donation here will help us to help the wayward souls who enter our door waiting for "a new leash on life".
