Meet Jesse, an adorable Shih Tzu whose appearance belies his 10 years of age. Unfortunately, his owner did not believe in neutering the dog. "Jesse's Girl" would be whatever little female paraded around the neighborhood and he would follow. Luckily, Jesse did not become the victim of a bigger dog and not involved with a car accident. In a few incidents in which he had an urge to meander, the Society's Animal Control Officer rescued him and his owner would reclaim his wandering pooch. The last time that Jesse had the urge to wander, his owner decided to leave him with us.It would have been a simpler solution to neuter Jesse but that was not to be. Now Jesse will be neutered so that this will not be a problem from this point forward.
Jesse is just one of many beautiful mixed breed as well as purebreed dogs waiting at the Society's three facilities. Some are in Tinton Falls and there are also many waiting in Newark and Forked River.

Among those waiting for a lifetime commitment are Pugs, Shepherds, Chihuahuas, Akita, English Bulldog, Shar Pei, Dog de Bordeaux, Jack Russell Terrier, Beagles, Labrador Retriever, Mastiff and more!
