It was early morning when a cab drove down to AHS and a passenger got out, tied this hapless, unkempt dog to the Society's front door, turned around, got back into the cab and never looked back. When AHS staffers arrived, the adorable little dog sat patiently waiting for help.
She was brought inside and within a short time, we discovered that the Shih Tzu had bladder stones. She was operated on for the stones and was also spayed at the same time. When her sutures had healed, she was given a full-blown spa day where she was bathed, groomed and now she is ready for someone who will treasure the little lady we call Crystal. She is about 4 years old and would love to be the one you come home to at the end of a rough day to perk up your spirit and fill your heart with love.
Thanks to contributions to our Res-Q Fund, medical concerns, surgeries, medication, veterinarians are part of a huge budget that needs to be constantly built up ... only to be used up for the next needy animal. As the inner city shelter for Newark, we are always in need of more funds, more food, more blankets, parrot chow, bird seed, kitty litter and more!
Crystal is now happy and ready for adoption. We have transported her to our Tinton Falls facility. For more information on Crystal, e-mail us or call the Society at 732-922-0100.
