Aslan - More Updates!

Look who is on the road to recovery ..... actually, he's on the fast track to recovery and is taking a short cut! Can you believe how much better our beautiful boy Aslan is looking in just a few short weeks?! Aslan came to us a few weeks ago in such terrible condition ..... we assisted in removing him from some horrid circumstances. Aslan was a bait dog for a dog fighter. He came in a physical and emotional wreck. With lots of good medical care, his injuries were all patched up, then the tougher task began of getting him to trust again, and learn that people could actually be kind.

It didn't take too long before Aslan realized he was in good hands. He went from cringing, hiding his tail and bowing his head, to smiling, wagging his tail, and walking with his head held high. Aslan is so loving and affectionate, and so grateful to anyone that shows him kindness. He is still not quite ready to be adopted but he will be soon. In the meantime, thank you for your thoughts and support of Aslan.

Our Res-Q Fund pays for the helpless animals that require special care like Aslan and your support is what enables us to help them. Please make a donation to our Res-Q Fund so we may help Aslan and the many more like him in need.

Stay tuned for more on the transformation of Aslan! Read his original story when he arrived.

UPDATE - SEPT. 26, 2013 - One of our caring supporters wrote the following for Aslan --

Hello, My name is Aslan, please listen closely to me,
There is evil going on, look at my scars, you will see.
I have a heart, it is big, it is loyal, and it is strong,
But that didn't stop evil people from doing me wrong.
I did not want to fight, so that made me easy bait,
They threw me in pits, wanted me to learn to hate.
But not me, I will not fight, I just flatly refused,
And that led to me being tortured, and abused.
But late one night, there was some noise around here,
And I had a feeling, I was no longer gonna live in fear.
Nice people came, and and at first I was not sure,
I was wondering how much I was going to have to endure.
But I got up my nerve, and I licked this kinds man's hand,
And from that moment on, I knew my life was gonna be grand.
I felt a feeling of comfort, I have never felt before,
And now I find myself walking through a great new door.
My scars are all healed, and my heart is feeling fine,
And a new loving life, with comfort and love is gonna be mine.
Yes, take a look at me, my spirit, my strength, and my heart,
The evil people in this world, just could not tear me apart!!

Love,
Aslan
