Meet Sasha – a 3 month old Teacup Poodle who was surrendered by a Newark resident who advised that they had purchased the dog in Puerto Rico. Because it appeared in poor health, they brought it to a veterinary emergency clinic and brought her directly to the Society. They advised that Sasha had diabetes and did not want to deal with it. The Society contacted the emergency vet office and ascertained that the she had low blood sugar – a temporary problem – which could have occurred for several reasons. Rather than deal with this precious young pup’s problem, they gave her up with the heparin lock still in her leg. The Society’s veterinarian has taken over the care of this dog who has no lasting health conditions.
Sasha now waits for a brand new year and a brand new life. She is waiting at our Forked River shelter to begin her new life. Contact us about Sasha or call (609) 693-1900.
