Dumped Cat Hides in Groundhog Burrow

Abandonment is against the law and at this time of year, it is horrendous crime. This male cat, along with another long-haired cat, were dumped near the Newark/Belleville line. This fella decided to take up residency in a groundhog burrow whose resident is, no doubt, in deep slumber.

An animal lover who became aware of the situation, brought food to them in order to keep the cats in the area. Unfortunately, she has not been able to locate the other cat. When this frightened, freezing feline saw her coming to feed, he ran out to her and hopped into the car! The hopeful, friendly fellow was certainly not feral!

Unable to keep him in her home, the animal lover brought him to the Society where Frosty is hoping to set your heart on fire! File N-78343-M (Newark). If interested in adopting this very sweet and mellow young guy, please contact us.

If you are caring for any outdoor cats, it is extremely important during this time of year to feed them additional food and fatty acid supplements. Create a warm place away from drafts for them to get out of the sub-freezing weather. Straw and bedding provide extra insulation.
