When a Barnegat resident had their male dog neutered, they waited to get the female spayed....but they waited too long. And so Mom gave birth to 6 pups. They were able to find homes for 5 brothers and sisters but this female Lab mix had a limp. The owners brought her to our Forked River facility and x-rays showed a bad fracture of the elbow. It had not healed properly and the cost to amputate the leg was more than they could afford. They gave Tater Tot to the Society who now waits for a brand new home...and a brand new life.

Tater Tot recovers with a soft teddy to keep her company.
Tater Tot is just one of the many hundreds of animals we have rescued in the last few months that were surrendered due to the financial burdens that everyone is experiencing. Your help in donating to our ResQ Fund will help many more unwanted animals such as Tater Tot. File L-17467-F (Forked River.)
