Thanks to the City of Newark’s Animal Control and Water/Sewer Department, a young male cat was rescued after he had gotten stuck in sewer pipes. The workers had to remove the grate that covered the sewer and pump water out before they could even each the cat. It was a bitterly cold day and local residents said it was truly a blessing to be rescued from such dire straits. The Newark Animal Control then brought the cat to the Society. “Blessings” is now at the Society’s Newark facility hoping to find the greatest New Year gift – the gift of life.
He is presently being treated for an upper respiratory infection. If you would like to help in Blessings care, you can donate to the Res-Q Fund. File N-88732-M (Newark).
