The Society is actively engaged in keeping abreast of needy animals that we become aware of either on the internet, through various agencies, and/or pet owners. Several days ago, an alert was posted concerning Baby, an 8 year old German Shepherd mix who lived in Atlantic City with her owner.

Either her owner let her out and he then passed away, or emergency rescue, who was alerted to the resident, may have let the dog outside. In any event, Baby waited for her dead owner to let her back in the house. Local residents would feed her now and then. The big snow storm came and she kept returning to her owner's porch and sitting there.

Finally someone picked her up, and she was brought to the county shelter. The alert that was posted gave her just a few days and would be euthanized. The Society's Director contacted the group and advised that we would be happy to take Baby until she finds a forever home. In the meantime, this devoted, lonely, heartbroken dog will live on the Animal Haven Farm. (Forked River)
Baby is hopeful that love will come her way again.
