Barely out of puppyhood, Street had the misfortune of belonging to a 20 year old Neptune fella who liked the idea of having a dog .... but none of the responsibilities that went along with it. Since the young man's parents divorced, he left his broken home and stayed with a relative. He left Street chained in the backyard and didn't bother to give him food, water or shelter.
When relatives and neighbors complained about the horrendously neglectful situation, the young man went into hiding for a few days .... leaving the dog under the same conditions in the backyard. When he returned, he removed his dog from the yard, allegedly finding someone to whom he could give the dog. Within a day, a Society staffer found the pathetic pooch, with the chain still attached, wandering in the streets in the icy cold winds ... in the middle of the recent blizzard.
Street is at the Society and hoping that he can find someone who will never again leave him out in the cold. If you are interested in being that home for Street, please contact us and reference File TF-58822-M. Street is waiting for love at our Tinton Falls shelter.
